Canal is an innovative platform that facilitates curated brand partnerships and modern dropshipping in the e-commerce space. When I first encountered the business model, it reminded me of an online version of a shopping mall, where premium vendors collaborate under one roof. Drawing from history, I found inspiration in the origins of the first shopping malls in the ancient Persian markets. The "C" mark was designed to evoke the feel of a desert caravan under a crescent moon, with a retro-futuristic twist.

The concept of a physical canal also influenced the logo, symbolizing a pathway that seamlessly connects two points—just as Canal connects storefronts and suppliers of D2C products. The color palette was inspired by the vibrant gems and spices of a traditional bazaar, the "sandy" texture was inspired by desert dunes, while the typeface, Söhne—a modern evolution of Helvetica—complemented the sophisticated, luxurious brand identity we were aiming to achieve.
